Mechanical Technician – Overhaul of Metros & Locomotives

As a mechanical technician in this day-shift position, you will work on unique projects in our workshop, such as overhauling metros from Copenhagen and locomotives from Germany. From completely stripping and rebuilding vehicles to repairing damage – no two days are the same.

Your responsibilities

As a Mechanical Technician, you will be involved in the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of rail vehicles such as metros, trams, and locomotives. You will work in teams on one or more projects, depending on your preference and experience.

Your tasks:

Carrying out maintenance, overhaul, and repair work on mechanical systems.
Assembling, disassembling, adjusting, and testing components such as drives, sensors, and braking systems.
Working on both interior and exterior – from seats and floors to panels and conversions.
Collaborating with colleagues on unique vehicles you won’t find in just any workshop.

Your work environment

In our modern workshop in Rotterdam, you will join a close-knit team working on unique rail vehicles such as metros and locomotives. Sometimes this means a months-long full rebuild, other times a quick repair on a damaged vehicle.

You will work day shifts with access to quality tools and all the facilities needed to work safely and professionally on vehicles you won’t encounter anywhere else.

Your skills

MBO Level 3 or 4 diploma in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automotive technology, or similar.
Experience with mechanical assembly or repair (rail vehicle experience not required).
Precise work approach and strong focus on safety.
Willingness to learn new techniques and work on new types of vehicles.
VCA and forklift certificate (or willing to obtain).
